Hey folks, sorry for posting here when I ain't a regular UTR player, and I hope that this is okay. Apologies to those of you who may get this more than once, as it's going out over the national lists too. Here however is the internet 'flier' we've put together for an Anarch Event coming this fall:

Anarch Fall Event 2010!

So, the Gainesville, FL game is throwing an Anarch shindig come this fall, and if you play an Anarch, we'd like you to come on down! Below is some information, and probable questions you or others may have for us regarding it.

What's happening now?

The local Anarchs are gonna throw an Elysium. That's right, a get together of Anarchs at their very own Elysium.

Why Gainesville?

It's been an Anarch Barony for 3 years now. Some of our players went to LA for their get-together, and want to return the favor. As well as see who else is on the East Coast, as there are Anarch players in Ohio, the Mid-Atlantic and points in between and beyond. We'd also like to have our Californian and Arizonan friends to come east!

No, why Gainesville, IRL?

Cuz it's where the game is located at! We're conveniently located near beaches and tourist attractions too, and we're doing it at a time when the weather should be pretty darn pleasant.

Okay, so when is that?

Friday October 22 & Saturday October 23. It's a good time to be in Gainesville, and local businesses will appreciate you being in town. It's in the middle of football season, but it's a bye-week for the Gators, so it won't be as 'crazy' as it normally is during fall in our college town.

But wait, Geoff, I don't play an Anarch, can I come?

Well, that depends really. For instance, we're going to be a bit more lenient with Independent or Cam Gangrel, since they're known to wander, and Nosferatu, so long as they leave politics underground. They should be okay. The rest? Well... there's plenty of other Sabbat and Camarilla events to be honest. We cater to the Anarchs for the most part, so you might not have as much fun IC if you're someone in the bigger sects. Other independents... well, technically, the Anarchs don't have as much of a beef with them, but again, it's primarily Anarch driven. So if you've ever been interested in checking out what all the hub-bub is about with playing an Anarch, now is the time! We may be able to provide you a basic template type of character for you to play, or assist you in making one up for the event.

Okay... this Elysium thing... Anarch? Really?

Yep. IC it's going to be a Car Show. Cuz man, there's a lot of Anarchs who are gear heads, and it's art, so yes. The Anarchs are IC pushing their own agenda on having both Elysia and keepers thereof, so why not?

What does the OOC logistics look like getting to/staying in Gainesville, and where will the event be held?

Gainesville isn't as easy to get to by plane as say, Orlando, Tampa or Jacksonville, but there is a regional airport serviced by Delta and US Air. The bigger city's airports are also only an hour and a half away via car, and some locals may be willing to play taxi service for a bit of a return on gas money. On the other hand, if you want to pay a little extra, we do have an airport!

For those who are taking roads to get here, Gainesville is right along I-75 (4 exits), and not too far from I-95--at least not so far that it makes driving a hassle. It's easy to drive here from anywhere along the east coast, and most of the Mid-west. Heck, I-10 runs east/west just north of us too, so if you're coming from points west, it's still pretty easy to drive.

Gville is also the home to the University of Florida, so it's more than geared to hosting large groups of people--far more than our Event is expecting (that's what happens when you have a college football team that's more popular than most of the NFL teams). We also have a local gamer who works for a Hilton here, who is going to look into group rates for cheaper places to stay.

Finally, the actual site is going to be in one of two places (we're still in early planning on this). The aforementioned Hilton is an option, however, we may just be at our regular game site, a place called 'the Laboratory'. It's a cafe/bar owned by a local gamer, and the site not only has the cafe, but the office space above it, which can easily handle 5-6 dozen gamers. Also, there's an air-conditioned warehouse (called the WarpHaus) that's been used by UF as an art studio for years behind it, that is likely going to be vacant come October (UF's lease is running out, and they're not renewing it), so yes, Anarchs may be meeting in an honest-to-G-d warehouse. But one that's appointed, and has as mentioned, climate control! This part is still in the planning stages though, so keep your eyes peeled for more information as we get that together.

Hmmm... possible... tempting... what do you need in the meantime?

We'd LOVE for OOC RSVPs to this at the very least, and the earlier the better. This isn't our first dance when it comes to events, but it is our first time doing it here, and with this genre. Anarch is kind of the "new black" in the org, and we want to do this right. We really don't know what our turnout will be like, and getting an idea on those numbers EARLY would be very, very beneficial to us making sure that everyone has a good time.

as the event is only a little over a month away, I thought it important to remind everyone of some dates/figures!

This event is taking place at the Gainesville Hotel and Conference Center in, you guessed it, Gainesville, Florida! We're very excited to be hosting our very first mainstream event, which will be primarily Anarch-focused. There will even be an Anarch Elysium featuring a car show as the main art exhibition! It's going to be a lot of fun, and we'd love to see you come out for it. Here's the information for the hotel:

PLEASE NOTE:

- All reservations must be made by October 1st.

- Book via phone and mention that you are part of the "One World By Night" group. I do not know if the code will work online.

- Check in is on Friday starting at 3:00 PM though the hotel will be accommodating to early arrivals.

- Check out is on Sunday at 11:00 AM. Late check outs will be at the hotel's discretion.

- Rooms are $49.00 plus tax per night, and include 2 queen beds

Important information: ROOM RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY OCTOBER 1st! Can't stress this enough. After that date we can't guarantee the same amazing room rate or block, so even if you are just considering coming, reserve a room now.
