William had answered. No one willing to claim the reigns of leadership that was.

"Please allow me to play devil's advocate in your own stance."

He requested as he adjusted his tie once more listening to the grievances and concerns that were very real.

"There is a difference between infighting and voicing one's own opinions. Our forefathers in the cause fought furiously and sacrificed excessively for liberties such as expression. In every state, you will have people with varying degrees of opinion, these people should not be simply dismissed as dissenters or people unpurposely or purposely planning the destruction of the state.

In a truly democratic state leaders are not unanimously chosen, nor will everyone agree with their policies. It is the nature government when it is decided by its neighbors instead of that of Princes or Kings."

"But you must also understand Father Noah, that the disagreements composed by either position that is causing this friction are legitimate grievances and to sacrifice and place them aside for the sake of unity on either or both sides can be just as destructive. I would venture that people of this area should encourage talks between the grieving parties and broker a fair compromise."

"I, too, apologize for misunderstanding the situation. Are you not at war? It seems to me that everyone within these territories is incredibly anxious to amass strength for some ensuing conflict. Perhaps the Hunters. If this is untrue, then I retract my previous assertion, and you should begin to work toward resolving your own issues."

Those last words that emerged out of the Priest's mouth greatly disturbed William. His eyes narrowed, his face became more serious, his demeanor shifted slightly at the great alarm that lifted his ears.

"Hunters? What has happened that would involve hunters?"

"Perhaps you are unaware? the matter of the hunters has come to the forefront of your brothers' concerns. Just this month, when I arrived to introduce myself, it would appear they briefly mistook me for one and almost had my killed. One was even brought into the gathering. There was quite a bit of panicked confusion. Maybe, before we continue our discussion, you should investigate this matter and determine for yourself if now is truly the right time to be dealing with personal matters."

"By what I have heard, I feel that now would be the perfect chance to do so. You are correct though, I would like to investigate this affair and thus I will take my leave."

With those words the unassuming venture rose from his seat, calm collected and refined in his motions as he honored his fellow conversationalist with a respectful nod of his head.

"It was an honor to perform a devil advocacy with you, I sincerely hope the Socratic method has helped you with your own opinions on these issues. Until another time Father."

He greeted Father Noah as he departed away from the table and for the exit.

"Now I can devote my full attention to you, my son. You say it would take you all night to recount the many misdeeds you have performed, but is that not why God made me a vampire.
