I wanted to point this out too. If you don't have the lore to speak about something, Then don't! Were all a little guilty but I ask e eryone to be mindful.

THAT, is something I will always be an asshole about Twisted Evil (I've already caught tons of people doing that in UTR and I think I'm doing a decent job of cracking the whip to have them stop metagaming.) It's not so much a conscious act on there part, it's that some people know so much OOC it's hard to suppress it IC'ly... But never the less, BE AWARE OF YOUR LORES (OR LACK OF!!!!!)

I know personally I've read the core 3 books once. Any knowledge I have learned is either hearsay or has something to do with my character sheet. I am all for keeping IC - IC and OOC - OOC. This should include lores and everything else.

What do I do with "knowledge" my character picks up by browsing the global forums?

OWBN manages them a bit with coordinators telling folk when there mentioning too lore specific things, but sometimes I still manage to pick stuff up even so.

let me clarify my statement. my character jumps to conclusions about video games he plays such as world of warcrafts paladins. he thinks theyre high and mighty and for the light and all that.

drew. i would say any information you pick up from the global forums is iffy. if you are in that global forum scene i think maybe you should know that one piece of information for a short time afterwards however you should by two or three games "forget" that info if you dont have the required lore. but by knowing that information it could be a step towards knowing who to talk to to learn the required lroe.

just my opinion though

Mark: That's EXACTLY how I run Lore as well as I hope Ilana should... Lores basically mean you retain said knowledge or hold onto it. If you don't have Lore, you know you read the info but you just forget it after a game.

Cheesy people who have Lores then tend to write out entire books or internet websites (Shrek.net for example) and post all their lore shit on there so everyone now has access to Lores. This basically means that if they have direct access to said information, they have the equivalent of that Lore, which in turn pisses off the ST's since they've now found away to skip out on buying it with XP, and thus gives us motivation to find make your life a living hell in some other way Very Happy

before makin that statement about schrecknet, please familiarize yourself with the OWBN Nos Genre Packet, and the rules of schrecknet. Smile

Call my clan cheesy....

"I don't know the difference between a werewolf and a wraith but my clansmen says if its huge and furry try and hit it with silver." Is a fair statement to make w/o any lore.

"I may not know Who Smiling Jack or Masako were, but my sire told me never piss off a brujah, their hot-headed and they use numbers to their advantage."

"Toreador's are artsy pansies who backstab each other, i know that but who madam guil was i haven't got a clue."

All the above are great examples how one can retain certain things that my be in a lore classification, and i see nothing wrong with retaining some actual facts(or false facts you've been fed).

Having Lore is sooooo much more than basic facts, its also an understanding and more broad.

I know all about Shrek.net.... This is how I look at what you got (Which you have played with and I respect) Shrek.net is filled with TONS of information, some accurate, and some full of shit.

If I see you portraying all of the information (even the false stuff) then your role playing it properly, if your taking out only the factual information and somehow not trying to apply the false stuff to your situations, your then metagaming.

You've been role playing it well thus far, why do you have such a guilty conscious whenever I complain about something Bruce?! Razz
