I'd like to ask that some sort of respectful smoking policy be put in place.

I understand that you have the right to smoke as much as you understand that I have the right to breathe clean air.

However there have been scenes where some of us cannot leave scene and other of us are smoking. Therefore we are stuck together.

Some of us happen to be highly allergic to that smoke.

Again the day after, I am sick due to the cigarette smoke, hacking, coughing and wheezing.

Thus I am asking for some sort of respectful smoking policy be put into place, where if people are forced into a scene together that there not be smoking.

I do not think my and others health suffer because of second hand smoke.

Therefore I am respectfully asking that if the smokers want to smoke, please simply walk away from the group, or wait until the scene ends.

Thank you.

Alternatively, if you would like, you could instead pay my health bill.

My first reaction to this was to say "Stop bitching Mike" because I'm an asshole... It's in my nature Very Happy

I think it was everyone just enjoying the first decent game we could play outside that got everyone carried away. But I did notice when it started getting dark, and wanted to run the scene inside I was told "Yeah but 3 of us smoke." That's nice and all, but there's more of us that don't smoke, hate having to run back and forth to get stuff to drink, don't like wearing night vision goggles in real life to run or play scenes, and hate having to run a scene while some guys high beams are turned on directly at us as he's starting his car up.

Normally if anyone here has health problems with smoking and were running a small short scene outside, you can politely stay down wind so the smoke won't get in your face or irritate you, but yeah, no more fucking all day multi-hour long scenes outside that involve the entire game. Small groups for 1-2 hours, sure? The entire game? If you need to smoke, take your action then excuse yourself cause I'm personally running it indoors.

P.S. This goes in the Feedback section Mike, cause it's Feedback Smile

Yeah. I'm just saying these situations come up.

Usually I do what I need to do, excuse myself and leave.

Vampires don't like fire either.

But these situations have and do come up where we can't leave because it's important to plot and I would appreciate some sort of respect house rule about it, for those of us who can't smoke.

We were outside for the smokers, I think the least they could do is walk away from the group.

Thanks.

I being the guilty party here, fully understand one's right to clean air, as much as i understand one's right to pollute it.

To say the ONLY reason we went outside was to smoke...might be a stretch, personally it was like the first nice day of the year outside, and fresh air was great.

All i can say if we start making rule about limiting civil liberties and all we're totally going too far. Next time, i say if you're offended by the cigarettes just move up wind, or ask someone to be more courteous if they're near you.

There's no need for this discussion, we're all mostly adults, and there sure doesn't have to be any rules....

If my feet start hurting, can I move my scenes inside to sit since I'm not trying to interfere with the "Standing Crowd"? Wink

Actually Bruce it wasn't only your cig that was the problem. You placed me sitting right next to Maks. And by the third cigarette I couldn't take it anymore and even chose to not blow celerity ooc so I could move. ^_~

I agree it was a beautiful day and it was nice to be outside but eventually it did get cold as well.

The wind happened to be blowing in the direction away from the wall, so the only place to move was inside. I'm pretty sure if I wasn't at that scene William Johns and maybe others as well, would have been dead. So really there wasn't much of an option.

I don't see how asking someone to wait to smoke or to smoke away from people is a big deal.

I'm also all in favor in letting the STs move the scene wherever they see fit.

We can't all be winners here but for me it is a personally a health issue that has been a problem since the beginning and everyone knows about. I will be a jew about it if you're insisting upon on making it an issue.

And I can personally guarantee that special accommodations for health issues over ride your 'civil liberties' on any side of the law. Believe it or not, I have as much right to be there as you do and the health of others takes priority over doing whatever the fuck one feels like at the time. <3

I have asked before in the past and the answer is always some bullshit form of no, I was obviously coughing and hacking. I don't see why being considerate to other people is a problem.

The reason I am saying something in the first place is the reason it DOES need to be discuss and some rules need to be put in place about it.

ENOUGH.

The smoking was an issue. Now when people light up they will do so with the understanding that those around them may not appreciate it. They will be respectful of that fact and not blow smoke in people's faces or almost stab people with their cloves/cigarettes.

A rule does not need to be made for this. The rule is smoking is outside. Next time, if there is an issue say something to the person smoking. Faces and eye rolling does not count as speaking.

It was nice out, but the scene should have been relocated once the sun set. That was a bad call on my part, I will correct that next time.

Please do not reply to this topic, enough has been said.
