Combat:
When Celerity is not involved, or is at equal levels, what matters to see who goes first can get very complicated.
Firstly no Category Mental, Social, Or Physical is faster than another.
Example: A Brujah w/ 3 mentals who tries to Dominate a Toreador before said Toreador slaps him w/ 8 Physicals doesn't get to go first.
In the Event of a tie in traits, and or celerity, the character with the most abilities in said applicable challenge may go first. If said Tie occurs again the STs should hold back from hurting anyone and perhaps flip a coin.
Contesting Actions:
If you have the highest traits and or celerity all other people declare actions before you do. Being the fastest gives you an Edge. Actions may not be changed no matter the what.
Example
Johnny Brujah, Alllen the Nosferatu, and James the Toreador are in a combat.
James Declares a blood for fleetness, Johnny a blood for Swiftness, and Allen moves on normal speed.
Allen is the first to declare his action which is to attempt to duck for cover and that he's vanishing at the end of the round.
Johhny Brujah's action is "Quick to pre-empt the move and shoot Allen Nosferatu.
James the Toreador decides to CONTEST Johnny's action by being nimble enough to shoot Johnny.
Johnny is still considered to be able to if he doesn't fail this test. He uses the same traits in said test that he would be using if he were just shooting Allen.
If the result is that Johhny is contested succesfully and shot, his action declared is not successful. (The Bullet missed him, and now he's ducked behind a dumpster.)
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY ANYONE CHANGE, MODIFY, or ADDEND an already Declared Action. If the proposed action cannot be taken for what ever reason the turn is lost.
No weapons or ITEMS OF ANY KIND may add to your iniative rating for the determination of who is fastest in a scene. |
